Wichita weather: A welcome break from winter

Wichita gets a welcome break from wintry weather for the next few days.

Highs on Friday are expected to top 60 degrees on a sunny day, forecasters say. Winds will be out of the south, gusting to nearly 20 miles an hour at times.

More sunshine is on tap for the weekend, when highs will be in the mid-50s on Saturday and about 60 again on Sunday. It’ll be windy, with southwest winds gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour on Saturday and about 20 miles an hour on Sunday.

Lows during this warm stretch will primarily be in the mid-30s.

The warm weather will persist until about Wednesday, forecasters say, when a cold front drops highs back into the low 40s.
