Wichita weather: Cloudy and blustery

It’ll be a cloudy day with lots of wind in the Wichita area on Monday, forecasters say.

Temperatures are already at their peak in the mid-40s as the morning commute gains traction in the metropolitan area. North-northwest winds will be robust, blowing steadily in the 20s and gusting to nearly 40 miles an hour at times. Temperatures should remain steady in the 40s through the day.

Winds will continue to be strong overnight, forecasters say, when lows fall into the mid-20s. Gusts will still approach 30 miles an hour.

Tuesday should be sunny but colder, forecasters say, with highs only in the upper 30s. North winds will be in the teens, with gusts reaching the mid-20s.

Chances for rain and snow arrive Wednesday night and persist through the rest of the work week.
