The work week gets off to a frigid start in the Wichita area on Monday, with wind chills near zero at sunrise.
Overnight lows in the teens won’t warm up much during the day, forecasters say, with highs only reaching the low to mid-20s. There may be a few snow flurries tossed in as well, though they won’t add to the 1.6 inches of snow that fell in Wichita on Sunday.
Lows will dive toward single digits early Tuesday before a warming trend arrives. Highs on Tuesday will reach the low to mid-40s and push toward 50 on Wednesday before another blast of polar air arrives late Wednesday night and early Thursday, forecasters say.
Chances for snow arrive with the late-week system and will persist into the weekend.
