Early Saturday morning earthquake shakes Oklahoma, Wichita

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale could be felt in Wichita on Saturday morning.

The quake struck at 4:20 a.m. and was centered about 11 miles southwest of Medford, Okla., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was almost four miles deep.

Medford is a little more than 75 miles south-southwest of Wichita. Along with Wichitans, residents in Anthony, Kiowa, Newton, Valley Center, Cheney, Goddard, McPherson, Oberlin, Salina, Abilene and Fredonia reported feeling the quake.
