An overnight storm with high winds and hail caused damage throughout the Wichita area.

It left thousands without power. Evergy, which operates from central Kansas into west Missouri, said 75,000 customers lost power because of the storm. Power to most of them had been restored by late morning Tuesday. Mount Hope has experienced the biggest impact when it comes to power outages.

Sedgwick County emergency management is still gathering damage reports, a spokesperson told The Eagle, and so far has assessed a lot of sporadic tree damage and trees and branches fallen on homes and structures. No injuries had been reported because of the storm.

A city of Wichita spokesperson said the city hasn’t seen an extraordinary amount of cleanup requests but will continue working to clean tree limbs from rights-of-way. Homeowners are responsible for cleaning up limbs that fell on private property.
