Collision on K-96 at Mount Hope kills one

One person has died and another has been hurt in a two-vehicle collision on K-96 next to Mount Hope, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported shortly before 1:45 p.m. Friday at K-96 and Ohio Street, a highway patrol emergency dispatcher said. Ohio Street feeds traffic into Mount Hope.

The collision involved a commercial vehicle and a sedan, the dispatcher said. The Kansas Highway Patrol has closed westbound K-96 at Mount Hope.
