Authorities arrest suspect in southwest Kansas killing
LIBERAL – Authorities have arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting one person and wounding another in southwest Kansas.
Liberal police said the man was arrested Friday at a Wichita residence on a warrant for first-degree murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a firearm. The Hutchinson News reports that he is jailed in Sedgwick County on a $500,000 bond.
The arrest came after officers responded to a shooting on June 6. Two victims were flown to a Wichita hospital in serious condition, and 40-year-old Josephine Vasquez, of Liberal, later died.
