The Newton Police Department has identified a man wanted for questioning in connection with a weekend burglary spree.

Newton police on Tuesday posted a photo of Corey Michael Youngblood on the department’s Facebook page.

After the department released surveillance pictures of two men suspected to have committed at least 10 burglaries overnight Friday into Saturday, “there was a preponderance who have identified one person in the photo” as Youngblood, the Facebook post said.

The department is asking Youngblood to come in for questioning.

Newton police Lt. Bryan Hall said on Saturday that the burglaries were committed near 8th and Logan, in east Newton.

Most of the burglaries were to detached garage structures, though at least one was attached to a home with residents sleeping inside, Hall said.

A car had also been stolen, but it has since been recovered, according to the department.

If anyone has information on the case, they are asked to message the “Newton KS Police Department” Facebook page or submit a tip to the department online. You can also text a tip by texting NEWTONPD and your tip to 847411.
