Woman killed in Kingman house fire
A woman was killed in a house fire in Kingman late Thursday morning, according to the Kingman Police Department.
Kingman Police Chief David Lux said in a news release that the department, as well as the Kingman Fire Department and the Kingman County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a house fire in the 700 block of North Sugar shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.
That is a one-story house on the west side of town, near the Kingman Community Hospital.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lux.
Two investigators with the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office were in Kingman on Thursday to investigate.
According to property records, the woman’s house was built in 1948 and was about 1,332 square feet.
