Wichita saw its first measurable snowfall of the winter Friday night.

The 0.2 inches of snow quickly melted as the sun came up Saturday, but areas in southwest Kansas still had snow on the ground after much higher amounts of snowfall the day before.

Here is a look at the highest snowfall totals around the state.

  • 11 inches in Manter
  • 10 inches in Ulysses
  • 9.5 inches northeast of Scott City
  • 9 inches in Syracuse
  • 8.5 inches in Lakin and Garden City

Wichita snow started around 6:30 p.m. and lasted around three hours.

Most of next week is forecast to have clear skies, but there is a chance of precipitation, though nothing major, next Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita. The week will mostly see highs around and in the 50s and low 60s.
