Update: Dodge City police say no safety concerns hours after downtown bomb threat
Dodge City police say there are no ongoing safety concerns after asking residents to avoid the downtown area because of a bomb threat.
The police department issued a warning via Facebook shortly after 3 p.m. Friday for residents to avoid downtown Dodge City, especially the Ford County Courthouse, Ford County Government Center and post office, after receiving a bomb threat.
Police said on Facebook shortly after 7 p.m. that the downtown area had been cleared and there are no safety concerns.
The Wichita Eagle has reached out to members of the Dodge City Police Department for additional information and has not received a response.
