A man was killed and two others are hospitalized after a shooting Wednesday at an apartment complex in Garden City.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Brayden Becker. Three teens, ages 19, 16 and 15, were arrested in connection with the shooting, the Garden City Police Department said in a social media post Thursday.

Police were called to the shooting at 5:30 p.m. at the Continental Apartments at 1408 Buffalo Jones Ave. Officers found a 19-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to St. Catherine Hospital.

Officers learned that two other men, Becker and a 17-year-old, had also been shot and had been dropped off at St. Catherine’s ER by a personal vehicle. After all three men arrived, the hospital was placed on lockdown.

Becker died from his injuries, and the two teens are in critical condition, police said.

“Officers learned that before the shooting at the Continental Apartments took place, residents inside the victim’s (Becker) apartment reported hearing loud banging at the front door,” police said. “Witnesses stated that the victim approached the door and opened it slightly when multiple individuals allegedly forced their way inside, shot the victim, and fled the scene.”

Three teens were arrested and booked into juvenile and adult jails. The cause of the shooting is unknown. Investigators said the victims and suspects knew each other.
