One man died and three people were injured Sunday when a pickup truck lost control and rolled in northwest Kansas.

Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs identified the victim as 40-year-old Juan Yanez-Derma of Bird City.

The crash was reported at 9:30 p.m. in rural Cheyenne County at the intersection of county road E and county road 10. Yanez-Derma was northbound on county road 10 in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. As he approached county road E, he was going too fast to make a turn, the KHP said.

The Silverado left the road and rolled twice before landing upright. Yanez-Derma was taken to the Cheyenne County Hospital, where he died. The three other men in the pickup, ages 19, 33, and 36, were taken to hospitals with minor or serious injuries, according to the crash report.

All three are from St. Francis, Kansas.
