A 28-year-old man died after a crash Saturday between a pickup and semitractor-trailer in northwest Kansas.

The man was identified as Lane Hoffman of Saint Francis, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The incident was reported at 4:15 a.m. along U.S. 36 in Cheyenne County. Hoffman was heading west on U.S. 36 in a 2014 Ford F-150, while the semi was eastbound on the same highway.

For unknown reasons, Hoffman crossed the center lane and collided with the semi on its driver’s side between the cab and its rear axles, according to the crash report.
