A 33-year-old Kansas man has died after being stabbed multiple times Tuesday in Dodge City.

The man was identified as Cody Holt, and his death is being investigated as a homicide, Dodge City deputy police chief Jerad Goertzen said Wednesday.

Officers responded at 9:14 p.m. to a medical emergency call in the 500 block of Sunnyside, in the south part of the city.

They found Holt outside of a house with multiple stab wounds. A passerby noticed him and called 911. Life-saving measures were performed, but he died at the scene, police said.

The circumstances behind his death are not known, and no one is in custody at this time. Goertzen said the department is “following several leads.”

Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call the DCPD at 620-225-8126 or 620-227-4646.

Dodge City’s population is roughly 27,514 and is about 150 miles west of Wichita.
