A 51-year-old man died in a rollover crash Tuesday in northwest Kansas.

The man was identified as Terrence Blackwill of Norton, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The accident was reported at 11:58 a.m. along U.S. 36 east of Oberlin in Decatur County. Blackwill was heading west on U.S. 36 in a 1975 Ford Super Duty pickup truck, hauling heavy machinery.

At one point the truck’s tires locked up, causing it to lose control and slide into a ditch. The truck started to roll and its trailer detached, the report said.

Blackwill was thrown out of the truck, which came to rest on its side. The trailer carrying the heavy machinery also rolled and came to a stop on its wheels.

Blackwill died at the scene of the crash.
