Kansas teen dies, another seriously injured in pickup truck rollover crash

One teen died and another was seriously injured in a rollover crash Saturday in central Kansas.

The teen was identified as Sutton Redger, 16, of Hillsboro, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The crash was reported at 5 p.m. southeast of Hillsboro in Marion County. Redger was southbound on Jade Road north of 170th Street in a 1991 Chevy Silverado and had a passenger in the pickup truck, the report said.

After going through a low-water crossing, the Silverado left the roadway, entered a field and rolled three times. Redger died at the scene of the crash, according to the KHP.

The 16-year-old passenger, also from Hillsboro, was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected serious injuries.

Hillsboro is a town of 2,688 and is 51 miles north of Wichita.
