Unique property on sale in Kansas goes viral on social media. Take a look inside
A home built in 1924 for sale in Garden City is nothing short of unique.
The two bedroom home with one and a half bathrooms is “filled to the brim with character,” the Zillow listing reads, complete with two fireplaces and an enclosed sunroom.
Purchased by its last owners for an Airbnb, the home is now on sale for $233,000 and has caught a lot of attention for its unique features.
“A lot of people like to look at it [and] check it out because it’s unique,” Realtor Amanda Janda said.
The home, located at 901 E Pine St, is about 3 1/2 hours from Wichita.
The home’s design is not one you see every day, with a steeply slanted tiled roof seemingly stretching over most of the front of the exterior. The inside doesn’t shy away from built-ins and stairs, with brick flooring in several areas as well as a master bedroom with access to all parts of the house.
The property, listed by MBA Real Estate, was recently featured on the Instagram account Historic Homes of America, which has more than 117,000 followers. The post garnered more than 8,000 likes.
“Omg I need this so badly it’s not even funny,” one user commented.
“Wait this place is so cool,” another one said.
“Oh this is gorgeous,” another said.
Two highlights of the 1,756 square foot home is the large atrium and the enclosed sunroom.
The downside of the property is that it’s not well-suited for a family, Janda said.
“It only has two bedrooms, and one is very open, and then the other has an exterior door to the backyard,” Janda said. “You almost need a single couple or some thing you know to live in it idea because of the layout, because that master bedroom just has openings to all the other areas of the house.”
Other highlights of the property include brick, carpet, laminate and wood floors, and a basement.
“You’ll love the unique architecture, from the custom oak cabinetry in the beautiful kitchen to the charming built-in china hutch. Picture yourself cozied up by one of the two fireplaces or soaking in the sunshine in the incredible enclosed sunroom,” the Zillow listing reads.
The listing was published on Zillow in March.
