A missing child who was abducted from Las Vegas over three years ago was found Wednesday by U.S. marshals in Augusta, Kansas.

Authorities arrested the 6-year-old girl’s mother, 30-year-old Natalie Black. She was wanted by the Nevada Attorney General’s Office on a charge of felony parental kidnapping of a minor, U.S. Marshal Jerry Viera said.

An arrest warrant for Black was issued on May 26, 2021. It is unclear exactly when the child was abducted.

The U.S. Marshals fugitive task force in Las Vegas learned that Black was likely hiding out in Augusta. They reached out to the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force in Wichita to help find and arrest Black and recover the child, according to a Wednesday news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Black was taken into custody by the Wichita marshals with help from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol in Augusta.

The girl was safely recovered and Black was booked into the Butler County Jail.

“Successful coordination with our state and local partners was vital to the apprehension of this fugitive, and the safe recovery of this missing child”, said Ronald L. Miller, U.S. Marshal for the District of Kansas.

Augusta is a city of 9,256 and is roughly 30 minute drive east of Wichita in Butler County.
