Three people were killed and four others were rushed to hospitals after a head-on crash Saturday in northeast Kansas.

The crash was reported at 3:54 p.m. along a rural road, roughly six miles northwest of Council Grove in Morris County, a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log shows.

Two people in a 2014 Ram 1500 pickup truck were heading south on Kelso Road, and five people in a 2024 Toyota Rav4 were heading north on the same road, according to the crash report.

The Ram was driving in the center of the road and struck the Rav4 head on, the KHP said.

The driver and passenger in the Ram, a 53-year-old man and 51-year-old woman, both from White City, Kansas, were taken to separate hospitals with serious injuries, the crash log said.

The driver of the Rav4, 33-year-old Troy Sabean, of Roseville, Minnesota, died from his injuries. Passengers Ann Porter, 69, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and Emma Porter, 33, of Roseville, Minnesota, were also pronounced dead, according the KHP.

The two other Rav4 passengers, a man and woman from Minnesota, were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with serious injuries, KHP said.
