Accident kills two men in Sumner County. One was a Clearwater City Council member

Two men, including a Clearwater City Council member, died after an accident Sunday evening in Sumner County.

William “Tex” Titterington II, the council member, died at the scene of the crash. Robert Davis of Enid, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning at a Wichita hospital, according to a news release from the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported around 6:18 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of south K-49 in Sumner County. Davis was southbound on K-49 in a 2016 Ford truck when he left the road, over-corrected crossing the center line and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette that Titterington was driving north on K-49, according to the release.

Authorities are investigating what led to the crash.
