The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified 23-year-old Ashley Seidl of Alma as the woman who died Sunday evening in an off-road vehicle crash in Wabaunsee County, crash logs show.

The incident was reported around 6:17 p.m. in the 31100 block of McFarland Road about one mile southwest of McFarland, Kansas, the report said.

Seidl was a passenger in a 2021 Polaris RZR off-road vehicle driven by 26-year-old Lester Johnson of Alma. Johnson was heading east on McFarland Road when he “failed to negotiate a left curve” and entered a ditch, according to the crash log.

The Polaris overturned and Seidl was thrown out of the vehicle. She died at the scene, the report said.

Johnson was taken to Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka for suspected minor injuries.
