How to report a scam call
If you received a scam call, you can report it to the Federal Trade Commission via its website or by calling 877-382-4357. The line is open for calls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The federal government says you can also report the call to your state’s consumer protection office. The government cannot recover lost money, but it may take legal action against a company depending on reports and the situation.
YouMail also has a tool on its website where you can report a robocall.
If you don’t want to receive robocalls, you can register for the National Do Not Call Registry. Being added to the list will stop calls from legitimate businesses, but won’t always stop illegal scammers. You can also report unwanted phone calls to that registry.
