Kansas man, 75, killed when pickup collides with semi Saturday afternoon

A Kansas man was killed when the pickup he was driving struck a semi Saturday afternoon in Reno County, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The driver was 75-year-old Larry Christiansen of Hudson, Kansas, according to the report.

The crash was reported around 12:43 p.m. in the northbound lane of K-61 about 5 miles southwest of South Hutchinson.

Christiansen was driving north on Partridge Road in a 2015 dodge Ram 1500 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a semi heading northeast on K-61, the log said.

Christiansen died at the scene. The driver of the semi, 30-year-old Kapil Sharma of South Ozone Park, New York, suffered no reported injuries.
