Man, 60, dead after pickup leaves road, strikes culvert in Kansas on Saturday

A man died after his truck left the roadway and struck a concrete culvert Saturday evening in Riley County, according to Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs.

The man was identified as 60-year-old Brian Butts of Bridgeton, Missouri, according to the report.

The crash happened around 4:28 p.m. along the westbound lanes of I-70, about 25 miles east of Junction City. Butts was driving west on I-70 in a 2015 Ford F-150, the log said.

For unknown reasons, the pickup crossed the center median and went into a ditch. It then struck a concrete culvert, went into the air, landed on its front end and overturned, the log added.

Butts died at the scene, according to the report.
