Kansas man, 73, dies after being struck by driver-less tractor, Highway Patrol says

A Kansas man is dead after a driver-less tractor struck him Saturday morning in Crawford County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. on 2715 NW Liberty Road, near the intersection of NW 30th Street and NW Liberty Road. Joseph Carlson, 73, of Cherokee, Kansas, was in a 2006 Chevrolet 1500 truck when a “driver-less tractor struck the truck,” the KHP crash logs read.

Carlson was taken to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita where he later died from his injuries, the report said.

The Eagle reached out to Kansas Highway Patrol for more information about the incident but has not heard back.
