A Kansas man died after being thrown off his motorcycle around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in Republic County, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The crash happened on U.S. 36 at mile marker 242.2 at Talmo Road about two miles east of Belleville, the log says.

Scott McIntosh, 58, of Olathe, was heading eastbound on U.S. 36 in a 2004 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle.

McIntosh attempted to pass a 2004 GMC Yukon driven by 43-year-old Bradley Hansen of Concordia, who was slowing down to turn left on Talmo Road. McIntosh struck the Yukon, was thrown off his motorcycle and hit the guardrail, according to the report.

McIntosh died at the scene of the crash. Hansen was not injured in the incident.
