Four people from Texas were killed Friday after the truck they were in hit ice, rolled and then became submerged, according to Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs.

Larry Klingensmith, 66, of Winnsboro, Texas, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram north on Highway U69 in Linn County when he “struck an icy patch on the roadway,” crash logs say.

Klingensmith lost control and the pickup entered a ditch, rolled twice and entered a “flooded wildlife area and submerged on its top.”

There were three passengers inside the Ram, according to the report: Kimberly Klingensmith, 65; Karly Klingensmith, 32; and Nicolas Klingensmith, 36, all also from Winnsboro, Texas.

Crash logs indicate no other vehicle was involved.
