Woodbine teen killed in Saline County crash
A teenager from Woodbine, a town with a population of 174, was killed in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon about two miles south of Salina, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.
Tate Joseph Riedy, 18, was killed shortly after 4:15 p.m. when his 2008 Ford truck struck a bridge pillar on I-135, according to the report.
Riedy was traveling north on I-135 when he “veered across the left lane into the median,” according to the report. He traveled in the median for a while, “went around guard rails” and then crashed into the pillar.
The Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
