Kansas school district plans vigil for freshman killed in ATV wreck
A candlelight vigil is planned for Saturday night for a 15-year-old Hoxie girl killed in an ATV wreck on Friday.
Nikki L. Stuckey was riding on an ATV in Sheridan County on Friday when the 16-year-old girl driving left the road and rolled the vehicle, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The wreck was reported at 7:55 p.m. and the driver suffered minor injuries.
The Hoxie school district, in northwest Kansas, wrote on Facebook that a vigil will be held 8 p.m. on the front lawn of the high school, while trying to honor social distancing, to remember the freshman who “loved volleyball and science.”
“As further information on funeral and/or memorial services become available, this information will be shared. In the meantime, we will have a basket set up in the office for any cards that you would like to have delivered to Nikki’s family,” the Facebook post says. “Finally, to those who knew and were touched by the life of Nikki, our deep and sincere condolences for your loss. She will be missed but not forgotten.”
