16-year-old Kansas boy dies in highway wreck after crashing into semi, troopers say
A Kansas teenager died in a wreck Sunday morning in Jefferson County after a car crashed into an oncoming semi.
Emergency crews were called at around 9:30 a.m. to an injury accident on K-4 in Meriden, the Kansas Highway Patrol said in a crash report. Investigators determined a 2005 Chrysler Sebring was southbound on K-4 when, for an unknown reason, it went into oncoming traffic and struck a 2016 Freightliner semi.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified in the KHP report as Kyler Michael Postma, 16, of Ozawkie.
The 39-year-old Grantville man driving the semi complained of pain, but was not taken to a hospital by paramedics.
