Two people killed by Riley County plow truck identified
Update 2:45 p.m.:
Troopers identified the victims as 22-year-old Anthony Stephen Toler and 20-year-old Jayden J. Rosa, both of Manhattan. The plow truck was being driven westbound by a 65-year-old Manhattan man and the two victims were walking westbound in the right lane, the Kansas Highway Patrol stated.
Original 10:45 a.m.:
Two people were killed Friday morning in Manhattan when a Riley County plow truck hit a couple of pedestrians, officials said.
The Riley County Police Department said the crash happened at around 5 a.m. in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard, which is also Highway 24. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
“The accident is a tremendous tragedy for all those personally involved and our community as a whole,” Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners Marvin Rodriguez said in a news release. “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all involved in the accident.”
