Falling just one point behind the best place to live in the U.S. in 2018, The Little Apple has been named the second best place to live.

Manhattan ranks second on Livability’s annual list of the top 100 best places to live, which factors in data including demographics, amenities, education and housing.

“Home to Kansas State University, Manhattan scored high in the education category (naturally) and is also among the Top 10 Best College Towns in the country,” Livability said in the rankings. “With many restaurants, shops and cultural venues, Aggieville and the bustling downtown are two popular entertainment districts.”

Manhattan also earned points for affordably-priced apartments and starter homes, a low unemployment rate and for having the convenience of an airport.

Overland Park also made the list as the 11th best place to live, and Lawrence was named the 23rd best place to live this year.
