Train versus car collision claims life of Kansas woman
An Elsmore woman was pronounced dead Saturday after the vehicle she was driving was struck by a train in Allen County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Melodee K. McEndree, 62, was driving a Honda car east on Idaho Road about 3 miles north of Elsmore when it failed to yield to a southbound train, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.
The crash happened just after 1 p.m. on Saturday. McEndree was pronounced dead shortly after the crash, the report said.
Elsmore is about 135 miles east of Wichita.
