A routine traffic stop in southwest Kansas turned into something bigger Friday afternoon, authorities said.

“Multiple indicators” prompted a Seward County deputy to search the 2007 Lincoln Town Car with K-9 unit, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

The dog found nearly 25 pounds of heroin in a firewall compartment. Two men from Port Hueneme, Calif., were booked into the Seward County Detention Center on suspicion of drug-related offenses.
