Undercover officer posing as high school student arrests six in Reno County
Though it sounds like a familiar movie plot, this is real life.
An undercover officer posing as a high school student in Reno County has arrested six people on suspicion of various drug-related offenses, according to a news release from the Reno County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation started more than five months ago, according to the release, and focused on Hutchinson, Nickerson and Buhler high schools.
The arrests “should not reflect negatively on these school districts,” Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said in the release. “The administrations of the schools worked in cooperation with law enforcement, being proactive while at the same time overseeing the rights of the students.”
Henderson said the operation was started as a result of “several drug overdose incidents involving kids.”
