Plane makes emergency landing on highway in Kiowa County
A single-engine airplane made an emergency landing on a highway in Kiowa County late Friday night after the plane’s engine quit, the Kansas Highway Patrol said Saturday. No one was injured.
The plane, a 1967 Model TA fixed-wing, landed on U.S. 54 about four miles west of Haviland at 11:35 p.m., a Highway Patrol dispatcher said. The pilot said the engine had quit. No vehicles on the highway were involved, and there were no injuries, the dispatcher said. The plane is registered to a Kansas owner; no other information was available Saturday.
