When your father is the BTK serial killer, everyone wants your story
Kerri Rawson’s harrowing story about how she came to terms with her father, BTK serial killer Dennis Rader, has been reprinted in the December issue of Reader’s Digest.
The story was published first in The Wichita Eagle on Feb. 21, 2015, under the headline: “When your father is the BTK serial killer, forgiveness is not tidy.”
The magazine asked for permission to reprint the story. Its version was shortened for space.
The Eagle’s full version can be read here.
Rawson has turned down many requests from national publications and broadcast media to let them tell her story. She agreed to tell her story in The Eagle last year, hoping it would help other people come to terms with crime and family trauma.
