Charley Davidson, candidate for Park City Council Ward 1
Name: Charley Davidson
Age: 40
Occupation: Police Officer
Previous government service: None
Have you run for office before? (Please list any previous offices sought)
No.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
I believe several areas are paramount and are the city’s biggest needs. One is public safety. I would like to continue to enhance our city’s police and fire and enhance their equipment and personnel to keep our city safe. The second is recreational areas. I have been asked many times by residents about a Park City pool and other amenities like that. I would like to work with Park City administrators and other elected officials in enhancing recreational areas for Park City.
What would your top 3 policy priorities be?
Park City is a great place to live and is seeing tremendous growth. There are still more growth opportunities for Ward 1 since the Ward is vast, extending from 101st Street North and South to Ventor. In the growth opportunities, I want to be a voice and representative for all the residents and business owners in Ward 1. My goal is to develop an area that is conducive not only for commercial development but also residential development.
I believe it is time to make a downtown district in Park City a reality. I am a huge proponent of developing and establishing a downtown district. I would like to continue Park City’s growth to be a place where families buy starter homes, but also where families retire. A downtown district would help with this goal. It would also bring unity and identity to Park City which is needed for the City’s continual success.
Recreational areas and schools in Ward 1 are priorities that I will be focusing on as a representative on the City Council.
