What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

Enrollment is the single most important issue in our district. Renwick has lost approximately 700 students in the past 17 years. Declining enrollment results primarily in decreased funding and decreased funding necessitates discussions on budgetary restrictions. Even when our dollars are appropriately allocated, without proper funding, budgetary restrictions must still occur to balance our budget. These restrictions will eventually affect our children’s education success. Increased enrollment results in increased funding and additional opportunities for our children, faculty, and staff. I would evaluate the totality of the situation and work with the board, administration, and our communities toward increasing enrollment for the continued success of our schools.
