Keith Humphrey announces run for Kansas Senate
Democrat Keith Humphrey will run for the Kansas Senate, seeking to represent Derby, Oaklawn and part of south Wichita.
The president and CEO of Jet AirWerks and Jet AirParts will run in District 28 against Sen. Mike Petersen, R-Wichita.
Humphrey lost to Petersen in 2012, when Petersen got 53 percent of the vote and Humphrey got 47 percent.
In a statement, Humphrey criticized the fiscal policies of Gov. Sam Brownback and the Republican-led Legislature.
He said he values “public education, a strong fiscal footing for the state and policies that address the kitchen table economic issues that affect hard working Kansans.”
