Sedgwick County election office opens 15 advance-voting sites Tuesday
Advance voting in person starts Tuesday at 15 centers in Sedgwick County.
Registered voters may cast ballots at any of the centers from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
In-person advance voting at the county’s election office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101, is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Monday.
Voters must show a government-issued photo ID to cast a ballot.
If voting by mail is a barometer of the county’s turnout, this election is on pace to be lower than the 2010 general election, the last time there was a gubernatorial race.
As of noon Monday, a little more than 50,500 mail-in ballots had been sent out and about 25,000 had been returned, Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman said.
In the 2010 general election, more than 66,000 mail-in ballots were sent out and all but 11,000 were returned and counted, Lehman said. The county saw a 52 percent turnout for that election.
Mail-in ballots must arrive at the election office by 7 p.m. Nov. 4.
