Independent Senate candidate Greg Orman has given his campaign more than $1 million and has loaned it another $200,000, campaign finance disclosures show.

The combined figure – more than $1.2 million – accounted for more than half of Orman’s fundraising through the end of September, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission and the Senate.

The campaign reported total receipts of $2,371,067. Of that, $1,210,028 came from Orman in the form of loans and contributions.

Orman has a minimum net worth of $21.5 million, according to his personal financial disclosure statement.

The financial disclosure documents also suggest Orman’s campaign faced something of a cash crunch at the end of September.

The campaign had just $119,639 in cash on Sept. 30 but owed $385,695.

The independent candidate has not accepted any donations from political action committees or party committees.

The disclosures represent spending and fundraising only through Sept. 30.

The latest campaign spending report for GOP Sen. Pat Roberts, Orman’s opponent, had not been posted on the FEC website as of early Sunday morning.
