After a massive start to early voting and months of anticipation, Election Day is almost here.

The presidential election isn’t the only item Kansans will see on the ballot. There are also several local and state elections, including the Sedgwick County Commission, Kansas Board of Education, Kansas Legislature and more.

Early voting in Sedgwick County has already hit record numbers.

Here’s what Kansas voters should know about where and when to vote, what they need to cast their ballot, how to research the options and lots more.

When can I vote on Election Day?

Polls are open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Sedgwick County. Kansas polling places are required to be open at least 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you’re in line to vote by 7 p.m., you can cast your vote.

How do I find my polling place in the Wichita area?

Unlike early voting, you need to go to your specific assigned polling place if you’re voting on Election Day. You can find your polling place by visiting the secretary of state’s VoterView tool at voteks.org. From there, enter your full name and date of birth. There you can also find your sample ballot.

You might have received a card in the mail from the county election office reminding you of your assigned polling place and any changes. Some polling places may have changed locations or names, so it’s good to double check ahead of time.

Can I still vote early in person?

No, the last chance to vote early was Monday, by noon at the Election Office.

Monday was the last day for early voting in Wichita and the line at the Historic Sedgwick County Courthouse had a long line waiting to get in.

Can I still vote by mail?

Anyone voting by mail had to have requested an advance ballot by Oct. 29.

If you received your mail-in ballot but have yet to fill it out and return it, you just need to make sure it’s either returned to a ballot drop box by 7 p.m. on Election Day or postmarked by Election Day and sent to your county’s election office.
