Candidate forum to focus on criminal justice

A candidate forum on criminal justice is set for Thursday evening in Wichita.

The forum starts at 6 p.m. at St. Mark United Methodist Church’s Southeast Campus, 856 S. Green. All Sedgwick County candidates for the Legislature have been invited; 11 have said they will attend.

The forum is sponsored by Kansans for Smart Justice, the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas, Kansas Appleseed, Kansas Black Leadership Council, The Community Voice, Jobs and Education-Not Incarceration, League of Women Voters of Witchita-Metro, and Team St. Mark Prison Ministry Group. Mark McCormick, executive director of the Kansas African American Museum, will serve as moderator.
