Sedgwick County has a license plate for you

Dig the arts? Love horses? Support the Kansas Freemasons?

The state has a license plate for you.

The Sedgwick County Treasurer’s Office is selling three new plates for people who like a little flair on their car or truck.

The annual fee for the Kansas Arts plate is $50, and that money goes toward funding arts programs across the state. There’s also a one-time charge of $50 plus regular fees and taxes.

The annual fee for the Kansas Horse Council plate is $30, and that money goes directly to the Kansas Horse Council. There’s also a one-time charge of $50 plus regular fees and taxes.

The annual fee for the Kansas Masonic plate is $25, and that money goes directly to the Kansas Masons. There’s also a one-time charge of $40 plus plus regular fees and taxes.

Personalized plates also have received a makeover and now feature a sunflower with “Sunflower State” lettered at the bottom. Personalized plates can have a combined total of seven letters or numbers — or spaces — for autos and trucks and five for motorcycles.

The fee for a personalized plate is $45.50 plus regular fees and taxes due at the time of registration. Personalized plates take about six to eight weeks to be made.
