Sedgwick County residents will have an opportunity Tuesday night to give their views on potential data center regulations.

The county is in the middle of a moratorium on the centers that is set to expire June 11. The moratorium was put in place so that the county had time to create policy and regulations on data centers with community input.

Tuesday evening’s meeting, at the Sedgwick County Extension Center at 21st and Ridge, will allow residents to provide feedback at “information stations” on a number of items, including the county’s zoning code, state regulations and policies, economic impacts, and energy, water and air quality.

The information received “will be used when forming potential modifications to either document,” a county release said.

Planning Department staff will also give a presentation on the planning process for data centers during the event.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the planning department’s presentation scheduled for 6 p.m.
