KDOT selects new aviation director
The Kansas Department of Transportation has officially named Tiffany Brown its new director of aviation.
Brown, an engineer from Overland Park, had been serving as the aviation division’s acting director since April after working as deputy director and state aviation engineer. She is the first woman to hold the role in the division’s 40-year history.
“As the daughter to a professional skydiver my earliest memories were at an airport. I have deep appreciation for the aviation industry,” Brown said in a news release. “I’m ecstatic to permanently take the lead of the division and continue to strive to enhance the lives of Kansans through aviation.”
Brown previously worked as an engineer for Benesch, a Manhattan-based firm, designing airport master plans. She holds degrees in engineering and business from the University of Kansas and Kansas State University and has a commercial pilot’s license.
