Sedgwick County to offer free HIV testing Tuesday
Free conventional HIV testing will be offered Tuesday by the Sedgwick County Division of Health to mark National HIV Testing Day.
Residents can walk in or call 316-660-7300 for an appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the department’s clinic at 2716 West Central.
It’s projected that one in eight people who are HIV positive do not know they are infected, according to a county news release.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, recommends testing for the human immunodeficiency virus for people who are sexually active, who share needles or who come into contact with blood.
