Conflict continues in the Middle East as the Israel-Hamas war rages on after Hamas militants stormed from the blockaded Gaza Strip into nearby Israeli towns last week. Since then, thousands on both sides have been wounded or killed, including at least nearly 30 American citizens.

The U.S. State Department said an undetermined number of U.S. citizens are still unaccounted for, so it’s not clear if those missing are dead, in hiding or being held hostage, Associated Press reported.

Hospitals have become overcrowded and overwhelmed by a constant flow of wounded patients, and and are quickly running out of supplies.

“Without electricity, hospitals risk turning into morgues,” said Fabrizio Carboni, regional director of the International Committee of the Red Cross said.

Multiple health facilities have become damaged in the strikes, according to health officials.

Now international aid organizations are worried of a “worsening humanitarian crisis” after Israel prevented entry of supplies from Egypt to Gaza, according to the Associated Press.
